Service Description

ABOUT LANE POOL: Attractive 1 acre lake is set in beautiful surroundings. Recently stocked with common & mirror carp up to 24lb along with an existing head of specimen tench and grass carp. All fish stocked are farm grown in bio-secure environments and health checked prior to stocking. This way we know exactly what goes into the pools. The fish are a strain known for fast growth. Only the quickest growing fish are grown on from the brood stock, so the expectation is that we will see fantastic growth over the next few years. This pool is characterised by the clarity of the water and there are quite extensive summer growths of aquatic macrophytes. Principal marginal plants are Soft Rush and Sedge with emergent small leaved lilies offering a pleasant feature. Several fir, willow, ash and alder trees grow on the banks, making this a truly beautiful spot to while away your time. Water depths range to a maximum of about 6 feet, the source of which is located in the South Western corner, where a silt trap and reed bed helps to purify the incoming water and prevent siltation. Diffused aeration during the warmer summer months help to maintain consistent water conditions throughout the water table, reducing stress on the fish and helping to maintain rigorous appetite and therefore growth. We keep this pool at a low stock density to maximise growth potential and to prevent potential water quality issues that might stress the fish, reduce appetite or lead to parasites. Parking for 3 vehicles is located to the left of the main entrance and signposted. On busy days the main gate to the right will be open to ensure plenty of parking Fishing is from the northern bank, as signposted, close to the peg numbers. RULES: 1) Gates must be kept shut 2) Barbless hooks only 3) 2 rods maximum per peg 4) No fixed leads 5) Minimum 8lb mainline 6) Shelf-Life Boilies, Tiger Nuts, Plastic or Artificial baits not allowed 8) All nets, unhooking mats, slings must be dipped to prevent spread of disease 9) Respect all other anglers & swim boundaries 10) No open fires 11) All rubbish to be taken home with you, including left-over bait 12) Friendly Dogs welcome if kept under control 13) No keep nets 14) Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated 15) We accept no liability for damages or losses to anglers property 16) U16's must be accompanied by responsible adult 17) No night fishing 18) Fishing is strictly by on-line booking only
