ABOUT MILLENNIUM POOL Practise & perfect your tactics with a day's carp fishing in beautiful surroundings. This smaller pool contains common and mirror carp up to 10lb+ along with some large tench and large grass carp in excess of 20lb+. All fish stocked are grown in bio-secure environments and health checked prior to stocking. This way we know exactly what goes into the pools. The carp that we stock are a strain known for fast growth and long life, with exceptional tolerance to changing conditions. Only the quickest growing fish are grown on from the brood stock, so the expectation is that we will see enormous growth over the next few years. This pool enjoys spring fed water, which is filtered in a cascading reed bed for purification before entering the pool. Principal marginal plants are Soft Rush and Great Reedmace, and enjoys great views of the ancient Radlith Wood and Pontesford Hill nature reserve. Water depths in the pool extend to 8 feet, with little seasonal variation, the source of which is located in the South Western corner, where a silt trap and reed bed helps to purify the incoming water and prevent siltation. This pool is used to grow on smaller fish, which are then moved to Lane Pool when they exceed 10lbs. This way we can maintain a larger stocking density with higher catch rates, which is why we call this the training pool. Please fish close to the peg boards to avoid arguments over swim boundaries. As you approach Earlsdale Retreat you will see signposts directing you to Millennium pool, with parking for 4 vehicles. RULES: 1) Gates must be kept shut 2) Barbless hooks only 3) max 2 rods - 2 people can fish with 1 rod each (refer to pricing options on the booking page) 4) No fixed leads 5) Minimum 6lb mainline 6) Shelf-Life Boilies, Tiger Nuts, Plastic or Artificial baits not allowed 8) All nets, unhooking mats, slings must be dipped to prevent spread of disease 9) Respect all other anglers & swim boundaries 10) No open fires 11) All rubbish to be taken home with you, including left-over bait 12) Dogs to be kept on leads 13) No bait boats 14) Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated 15) We accept no liability for damages or losses to anglers property 16) U16's must be accompanied by responsible adult 17) No night fishing 18) Fishing is strictly by on-line booking only.
